@Youth Connect 5

************************************************************

We were planning to run another course in the summer term, but obviously we can’t do this. However, there is a FREE online course for parents and carers. The course will run as a series of 5 webinars. For more information and to sign up for free, click here.

We recently ran a new programme for parents and carers called Youth Connect 5.

The course was written by Public Health England and developed by Merseyside Youth Association to help parents and carers support their children’s mental health, emotional wellbeing and resilience.

The programme is based around 5 keys areas:

  • Understanding young people’s mental health
  • Understanding why we feel the way we do
  • Developing skills to support our children
  • Developing family resilience
  • Thinking about what helps us thrive

The course is delivered in school by Mrs Stout (Family Engagement Officer) and Miss Cassim (Pupil Wellbeing Officer).

This is some of the positive feedback we have received from the parents who are currently attending:

  • “I loved it. I learned about staying positive and learned about terms such as mental health.”
  • ‘I liked it. It’s been really useful. It’s helped me feel confident trying things at home and I liked learning about how children think and feel.”
  • ‘I liked it. It helped me think about risk and resilience and the importance of listening to children.”

If you would like to book onto the next YC5 course, please contact school on 727 6067, or call into the school office.
