At St Silas School, we teach Spanish to all children in Key Stage 2. Children have a 30-minute lesson each week with Marina, Miss Murphy or Miss Garbett, who all speak fluent Spanish!

We use the School Improvement Liverpool long-term planning documents to teach children a range of basic phrases so that they are able to hold simple conversations in Spanish. They learn to read and write words in Spanish and how to use the correct pronunciation. The lessons are engaging and interactive with learning often taking place through songs, rhymes and games to ensure all children participate and make expected progress.
