Healthy Schools Award
The Healthy Schools Award recognises schools that actively promote the health and wellbeing of the whole-school community. It is a commitment to promoting personal, social and health development and supporting the links between health, behaviour and achievement. It is centred around the whole school environment and all aspects of school life.
St Silas CE Primary School was recently awarded the Health & Wellbeing Bronze Award by School Improvement Liverpool. This demonstrates that the health and wellbeing of the children and young people in our care are well catered for, and it is recognised that school focuses on the following four areas:
- PSHE including ‘Relationships and Sex Education’ and ‘Drug Education’
- Healthy Eating
- Physical Activity
- Emotional Health and Wellbeing
Healthy School Meals
Our school meals,healthy, nutritious and freshly prepared on-site daily.
We cater for all dietary requirements, including halal and vegetarian.
Our kitchen was recently given a 5-star rating by the Food Standards Agency.
Free School Meals
All children from Reception to Y2 are entitled to a free school meal. This is referred to as a Universal Free School Meal.
